For the past few days, the world (or at least the social media world) has been immersed in intense speculation over one seemingly innocent TikTok. The original TikTok, now with over 50 million views, shows a girl surprising her long-distance boyfriend after several months of separation. Why is the world so invested you may ask? Well, after a few watches, the video begins to look less and less innocent. The most obvious red flag being that the boyfriend doesn't seem super enthused to see his girlfriend, and then there's also the speculation around the girls he was seated next to.
It did not take long for people to begin recreating this video, expanding on the idea that 'Couch Guy' definitely has something to hide. Some major questions that have been asked are:
"Why does he have a hairband on his wrist?"
"Why does one of the girls hand him a phone the moment they see his girlfriend?"
"Why is the energy so.... dry?"
Perhaps there's nothing going on, but boy did this 'controversy' really blow up.
